A is for Animation: Mario Menjivar

Grab a pencil. Mario Menjivar writes the first of a new featured blog series: A is for Animation.

Hello everyone!

I’m very excited to introduce you to some of the techniques I use as an artist and as an instructor. I’m going to show you how I approach the art of animation. I’m also going to share notes from some great artists in the field of animation who through the years shared some of their own tips with me.

One week I will talk about drawing; another I might talk about storyboards, staging a scene for your film or creating mood in your scene and drawings. I’ll also discuss anatomy and character designs. In some entries I will be using some of my students’ artwork as examples.

I hope my blog will help spark your creativity and artistic journey as much as these techniques have helped me on my own journey.

Best, Mario J. Menjivar.aisforanimationpic2Aisforanimation1
