The Building Bridges program is a unique collaboration founded by SVA and the Zurich University of the Arts, and financed largely by the European Union. Its purpose is to bring American film and performing arts students together with their European counterparts to prepare them for the global world in which they will work.
Program participants have met twice this year: at SVA in New York and at the Zurich University of the Arts. In June, the final meeting of 2013 will take place at New York University’s Villa La Pietra in Florence, Italy. Throughout the year, students work in online groups.
Building Bridges makes a remarkable experience possible by incorporating serious international work and study into a very intense professional and academic degree program.
“Building Bridges is an extraordinary gift. As an artist, I now have relationships with collaborators around the world; as an individual, I now have friendships whose foundations are built by these collaborations.” –Kat Knight, SVA ’13
