When the Moon Shines, is about two kids growing up in a violent environment and forced to grow up too fast as a result. Twelve-year old Jimmy makes it his job to try and shield his sister from the worst.

While writing, I researched short stories about domestic violence, and the moments when people felt like they were forced to grow up. I talked with friends and acquaintances who grew up in similar environments. When picking my production crew, I looked for people who had experience doing similar material.
