Home Coming is about Drew, a teenager who spirals into despair after becoming obsessed with her best friend’s disappearance. Inspired by the want to combine mystery/drama with real world issues, and focusing on the aftermath of a kidnapping, Home Coming expresses themes of grief and complex relationships while commenting on our society’s short attention span to current events. I am tremendously proud of all the hard work my team and I put into this film. It was a labor of love that couldn’t have been made without the dedicated cast and crew. Home Coming was awarded Best Writing, Best Acting Ensemble, and Best College Film at the 2024 Count Basie Center Breakthrough Filmmaker Festival. It was also a finalist at the 2024 Student Los Angeles Film Awards, and an official selection at the 2023 Coronado Island Film Festival.
